Today we got to see you again! I love feeling you move around and kick me but there's just something about seeing your little hands and feet and actually see you moving! I can't wait to see you for real and hold you! I think you slept right through the doctor visit today...haha! You were all curled up in a little ball. It was still cute even though you didn't model for us this time. Today was the first time I saw your eyes! It was amazing! I know you're going to be beautiful in every way and I'm sure those same eyes will melt my heart and get you out of lots of "spankings" one day ;)

Dear Claire,

I wanted to tell you that although I have never met your daddy, that your mommy was one of the godliest girls I know. We went to college together and spent a lot of crazy nights and weekends working on projects. She always loved kids! I remember she had a picture of her sister with her children on her dresser(your cousins!) and she would comment on how perfect and beautiful they all were. She would go to the missions night on Mondays and I only went with her once (Monday nights were the nights my family called!) and she was always such an inspiration to me. She probably never knew that but I guess she does now! I really looked up to her as a godly example for all girls. I know that she and your daddy are going to be wonderful parents. Perhaps one day you will get to meet our son Isaac!

Hello there! I must first say that I cannot wait to hold you and love on you. Of course, by the time you are able to read this, that statement may be a little awkward but, believe me, you are one very loved child (even if you do like to practice soccer all over your mom's organs).

Just in case you don't already know, you have great parents who will show you the love of Jesus and that there is no greater joy than to know Him. They will also love you like no other here on earth. So treasure them.

So as to not bore you with my wordiness I will bring this to an end. I most likely will not get to see you much, but do know that I pray for you.

P.S. I met your mom during college and I have lots of stories! Feel free to ask because I would love to share them!

Its only your first day communicating with the public and 135 people have already stopped by to say hi! You are really popular - I can see this getting to your head and becoming a problem if you are not careful. But no wonder, you are really cute!

I have known your mommy's family for a number of years now, and you are one blessed baby to have landed in the Wimberley/Bassham clan! I can already tell that you have a finely developed sense of humor. Trust me - with that sense of humor and trust in the Lord Jesus, you will be able to overcome anything! JOY in the Lord is strength - no matter what you may face throughout your life, if you hold onto the joy of the Lord, you will have it made. Joy and happiness are not the same, though. CHOOSE JOY because it sticks with you, like chewing gum in your hair. Granted, the chewing gum in your hair thing is not much fun, because it either means peanut butter in your hair or a funky haircut. BUT you can still have joy because you have the memory of riding down the Galveston seawall with the window down, God's warm sun shining on your face ... and you will have learned an important lesson: DON'T blow bubbles while doing this! Praying that there is much joy in your journey, Claire. :)

Oh Claire! I am so excited about your coming into our lives in a few months. I was just thinking about you today and what a blessing you are! Your Mom and Dad are so special and we love them so much. They have been a joy to us just as I know YOU will be! I love the video of you moving around! Can't wait till I get that call that you are finally here! I love you very much!

Hey Claire, today I am 23 weeks pregnant with you. Time is flying by and I get more excited everyday! This week means that your facial features are all done forming and I can't wait to see how beautiful you are. You are over a pound now and will start putting some weight on those little bones of yours over the next several weeks:) I just watched the video of your 18 week ultrasound (again:). I am amazed that God would give you to me and I am thrilled to raise you for His glory! I hope you grow to love Him with all that you are!

We got to see you again yesterday! I love ultrasounds, especially when you are wide awake and moving around. It is so amazing to see! This time we were able to see clear shots or your heart and lungs, which are doing great and measured great too! We also got to see your sweet little face. Your dad thinks you have my nose but we shall see:) We are so excited for you to get here in just 84 days. Its seems so close but so far away all at the same time! You are already very loved and pretty popular I might add. So, many people can't wait to meet you and many are praying for you all over the world! Love you, Claire!

Dear Claire, In just about 45 days you will be born and I wanted you to know how excited I am for you to get here! Your mom and I were very close growing up and we always had a blast hanging out. We did a lot of projects together like passing out church flier, fixing things, teaching, and moving. Hey baby girl! Your arrival is only 5 weeks away and me and dad can hardly wait to see you! I am getting things ready around the house for you. I just finished washing most of you clothes and getting your carseat and stroller all read. I am hoping to find a dresser for you today. Just the other day I heard your strong heartbeat again and I can't wait to see what our God is going to do with that little heart. Love you!

It is kind of strange realizing that you are going to be here in just a few days. I have dreamed of this for a long time and you are really about to be here. I always wonder what you are going to look like. After all, you are mine and mommy's. I see kids all the time, but its not near as interesting when they aren't a part of you.

I am probably going to cry like a little girl when you get here. I can't believe that I am going to be responsible for everything about you. You don't really know a whole lot right now and the only things that you are going to know are what your mom and I teach you, so that makes me a little nervous! I am going to try to do my best to make you ready for the world by the time you get into it.

You know what else is strange? You are going to grow up in a totally different world that I grew up in. I didn’t even have a computer until I was like 19 or something and I'll probably get you an iPad by the time you are 2!

But that isn't really the world that I am talking about. I mean that you are going to grow up in another country, with a different language, different games, stories, religion, values, and everything else! I am scared sometimes that I wont understand the world that you grow up in as well as you will and will mess up stuff for ya. But you can help me understand it, how about? We can be a team.

I am going to try to do good at this because I love you a lot and want you to grow up to be a godly little girl that just radiates joy and grace in the middle of a country that doesn’t know a bunch of people that know anything about Jesus. Its going to be difficult, but I think you are going to know Him better than I did.

I will try to do good, but if I start messing up, ask me if I think that is how God would do things. That'll get me.

When I am being a good dad, I am being like Him, and when I am not, I'm not. I'll try my best to be the kind of Father that He is, cuz He's awesome.
